Body PH Balance

by in General Articles on

WHAT DOES pH MEAN?

pH is a measure of the acidity or basicity of a solution. It is defined as the cologarithm of the activity of dissolved hydrogen ions (H+). Hydrogen ion activity coefficients cannot be measured experimentally, so they are based on theoretical calculations. The pH scale is not an absolute scale; it is relative to a set of standard solutions whose pH is established by international agreement.[1]

The concept of pH was first introduced by Danish chemist S?ren Peder Lauritz S?rensen at the Carlsberg Laboratory in 1909. It is unknown what the exact definition of p is. Some references suggest the p stands for ¡°Power¡±, others refer to the German word ¡°Potenz¡± (meaning power in German), still others refer to ¡°potential¡±. Jens Norby published a paper in 2000 arguing that p is a constant and stands for ¡°negative logarithm¡±; which has also been used in other works. H stands for Hydrogen. S?rensen suggested the notation “PH” for convenience, standing for “power of hydrogen”, using the cologarithm of the concentration of hydrogen ions in solution, p[H] Although this definition has been superseded p[H] can be measured if an electrode is calibrated with solution of known hydrogen ion concentration.

Pure water is said to be neutral. The pH for pure water at 25?¡ãC (77?¡ãF) is close to 7.0. Solutions with a pH less than 7 are said to be acidic and solutions with a pH greater than 7 are said to be basic or alkaline. pH measurements are important in medicine, biology, chemistry, food science, environmental science, oceanography and many other applications.

Understanding pH in Simple Terms

pH (potential of hydrogen) is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution. It is measured on a scale of 0 to 14¡ªthe lower the pH the more acidic the solution, the higher the pH the more alkaline (or base) the solution. When a solution is neither acid nor alkaline it has a pH of 7 which is neutral.

Water is the most abundant compound in the human body, comprising 70% of the body. The body has an acid-alkaline (or acid-base) ratio called the pH which is a balance between positively charges ions (acid-forming) and negatively charged ions (alkaline-forming.) The body continually strives to balance pH. When this balance is compromised many problems can occur.

It is important to understand that we are not talking about stomach acid or the pH of the stomach. We are talking about the pH of the body’s fluids and tissues which is an entirely different matter.

BASIC pH CHART

CHEMICAL CONDITIONS IN ALL LIVING ORAGNISMS

The pH of different cellular compartments, body fluids, and organs is usually tightly regulated in a process called acid-base homeostasis.

The pH of blood is usually slightly basic with a value of pH 7.4. This value is often referred to as physiological pH in biology and medicine.

plaque can create a local acidic environment that can result in tooth decay by demineralisation.

Enzymes and other proteins have an optimum pH range and can become inactivated or denatured outside this range.

The most common disorder in acid-base homeostasis is acidosis, which means an acid overload in the body, generally defined by pH falling below 7.35.

Body pH Values therefore tell us if our body is acidic or alkaline and this can put us on guard to be more vigilant about out food and drinks intake so that we always remain alkaline and thus healthy and vibrant in our lives.

When Body pH Values drop below 5 than sickness and disease sets in. Whilst the body may generally be healthy, but the pH Value will show that the concentration of acids and their production in the body by pathogens is on the rise and this is the first indicator or alarm bell signal by the body that something serious is going on in the body, usually, it means sickness and disease in the body is starting to progress and take over control of the body.

Such a condition also means that the body is not able to defend itself from sickness and disease due to a weak immune system.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH OUR BODY IF WE ARE SUFFERING FROM A(H1N1) INFLUENZA VIRUS, CANCERS AND OTHER CHRONIC AND INCURABLE DISEASES?

If we are suffering from any or many chronic or incurable serious disease condition(s), we must try to understand more about our disease condition first before we can embark on any treatment or cure to rid our selves of the condition(s).

Trying to balance the Body pH alone is not enough as it will not work solve the disease conditions of the body. We need something more active and full-proof to get rid of the disease problem. We need a greater understanding, all about diseases and ailments, including all incurable diseases.
